Despite the struggles of 2020, Stuart is hoping for an exciting year. Following the success of his role as Coordinator and Fight Arranger with Secret Cinema in China, he will be continuing to work on a large “Secret” project towards the end of the year in London. Meanwhile other Fight Directing opportunities are approaching, with both Doctor Who: Time Fracture and Bat Out of Hell the Musical!, hoping to make an appearance soon. The world of the British Stunt Register is also getting busy and it seems Viva Voce could be making a come-back – something Stuart is very excited about; the chance to sing with an audience again. Bring on 2021.
Since returning to the UK mid 2014, alongside working on productions such as Bat Out of Hell and touring with shows like Viva Voce, Stuart has been training towards joining the British Stunt Register. In July 2018 the hard work all paid off and Stuart was accepted onto the prestigious BSR, having achieved a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, an SPA in Rock Climbing, a PADI Divemaster in scuba diving and passing BSR exams in Gymnastics, Trampolining and Horse Riding. Stuart is excited to have realised this ambition and to make a start in the British Stunt world as soon as possible!
After a successful year as Fight Captain on Bat Out of Hell, Stuart has been asked back to re-work the show for its new home in the Dominin Theatre, as the shows international Fight Director. This being acheived, he will then be training the new casts around the globe, with current plans of productions in Germany, Australia and the USA.
Having passed the Stunt Trampolining exam in December, Stuart is off to ride horses in Spain, shooting a part in the new TV drama "Virgin and Martyr", before embarking on the exciting spectacle which is "Bat Out of Hell - The Musical"!
Coming to Manchester Opera House before the world premier at The London Coliseum where Stuart is set to give at least one performance as the tyrannical Falco.
Still singing around the world, Stuart now has a black belt in Taekwondo and is well on the way towards exams in trampolining, gymnastics, horse riding and swimming.
Continuing with Viva Voce and Disney, Stuart has also manged to get half way through his stunt training, achieving the required red belt with black tag in Taekwondo, a Dive Master with PADI and the SPA in Rock Climbing.
Lightseeker finished, Stuart has now joined the classical crossover group Viva Voce and begins on a nautical journey around the world singing with “Britains answer to Il Divo”. He will also be performing with various orchestras around Europe and the Middle East with “Disney In Concert” while continuing to study for the British stunt register.
China went very well indeed; Stuart performed around Shanghai for various events including Ferrari and Miss Earth China, and is now living in Singapore playing the title role in the new multi-million dollar RWS musical The Lightseeker.
After the excitement of Chronicles of Syntax taking the online world by storm and the success of his performance for the Chinese New Year Gala, Stuart has taken a crash course in Mandarin and has flown off to try his luck in the orient!
